ANGEL
ANGEL
Angel is with her foster family in Virginia having a wonderful time. Look how happy this girl is. We are beginning to see a little bit of hair coming through the black skin. We are still very hopeful for this wonderful girl.

Angel is doing wonderful. She is the sweetest girl. As you can see from the pictures below she still has a long way to go on her hair coming back but she is feeling a thousand percent better. She has put all of her weight back on. She will be leaving soon to go to a specialist in Virginia where she will be pampered and fostered through the balance of her treatments. We are hopeful she will get her hair back but not sure if that is possible because her skin has been damaged so badly. We love her just the way she is and will be happy either way.

Angel is doing a lot better. She is being treated for her demodex and the secondary infections and has started to wag her tail because she has finally started to feel better. She has put a little weight on but this has been hard since she her stomach has been so upset. It will be a long time before her fur starts to grow back in because of the thick layer of skin she has developed. Eventually the skin will soften up and the hair will grow back in most places. She had terrible infections around her eyes and those are getting much better.

This sweet 5 year old shepherd mix has had a life of pure HELL. She was picked up as a stay in Winder, GA and taken to Barrow County Animal Control. She has been tortured from having mange and fleas as a puppy and not being treated. The mange sets up a chain reaction of medical conditions that come from not being treated. The non stop itching causes the pup to scratch constantly. The scratching causes the skin to get infected. The infection causes yeast & fungus to develop on the skin because of all the moisture in the skin that just keeps oozing. Eventually the body tries to protect itself from this attack by building up a thick layer of tough hairless black skin. All of this eventually causes an auto-immune or thyroid problem. On top of all this, she is emaciated. Sweet Angel hurts to move but move she does because she wants to give kisses to anyone that will come near her. When she looks at you with those soulful eyes, you just want to cry for what someone has allowed to happen to this incredible dog. Angel will have years of treatment to turn her system around. One thing she will not be lacking is lots of love and compassion while she is being treated.
