Darlington Euthanize List
All of these animals can be put to sleep at any time. The shelter euthanizes every Wednesday and on other days, as needed for illness, injury and space. Approximately 35 animals were put to sleep last week – please do not wait to email if you are a rescue group and you are interested in rescuing an animal! If you are interested in adopting for yourself, please contact the shelter and make arrangements to travel to the shelter to meet the animal, sign the contract and adopt the animal. The shelter’s number is 843-398-4402 and it is open 10 am to 4 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 10-3 on Saturday.
The shelter is closed every Wednesday and Sunday.
The shelter is very stressed for space and funds. The shelter is charging pull fees for animals based on the vetting that has already been done – Usually this is $30 for adults and $20 or less for puppies and kittens. Again, it depends on what exactly has been done for the animal and it varies from animal to animal. Please Ask! The shelter is very rescue friendly and is thrilled to be working with so many reputable and hardworking rescue groups. Thank you for your support, care, and all you are doing for our furry friends!
BOBO -- Bobo is a large Catahoula Leopard/ Bulldog Cross. He is very frightened in the shelter and shy. We have not seen any aggression from this large baby.
Travis - A male Bulldog/Pit Mix - He is quiet and appears mild mannered.
Joe - A 6 year old Male Boxer/Bulldog Mix - he is loud and full of himself! Not a good candidate for rescues that cannot keep him separated from other dogs or cannot guarantee that he will go to a home without other dogs. Really likes people!
Jasper (AKA Buster) - STILL NEEDS RESCUE
Jasper/Buster is a 6 month old male chow-chow/german
shepherd mix that is all energy! He loves to play rough with other
dogs and some people too! He is all ears. He has a dominant dog
attitude with big ambitions for a small pup. This poor pup has
contracted scarcoptic mange but is currently being treated. He
needs a rescue ASAP!!!!

Torti - STILL NEEDS RESCUE!
Torti is a very friendly and loving cat. She was an owner turn-in because
she suddenly stopped using her litterbox and started using the
bathroom mat instead! She may have been upset about a change in the
home or have been experiencing a urinary tract infection. She gets
along great with the other cats and always comes running to get her
head scratched and her back petted. She also likes to purr rather
loudly! ** She is using the litter box at the shelter!*****Will be tested for
feline luekemia once a rescue steps forward and indicates an interest**

Chelsea - A gorgeous medium sized lab mix - she has a bobbed tail and a
curly coat! She was terrified initially, but has really blossomed in the last few
days. She is loving and eager to please!

Lady was surrendered by an elderly owner who could not longer care for her.
Her 3 puppies (the 3 Sisters) were also surrendered. They appear to be
Chow/Shepherd mix.

Maddox is a super handsome black lab mix. He's a friendly fellow that would

Riley is a male Black Lab mix brought in by Animal Control. He is a high
energy, exuberant guy that needs an outlet for his energy. Sitting in the
shelter is quite the boring place for a pup with places to go and things
to do and people to see!!!! Poor Riley is Heartworm Positive. :-(

Winnie is a sweet girl. She appears to be 1 year old. She gets along
great with other cats. She loves to be petted. She also loves to climb
and jump on things. She would do well in a home which has a cat habitat
that she can climb on.

Brooklyn is located in the outdoor cat habitat and is very friendly.

Reggie is a male Black Lab Mix. He has feathery ears, so may have
some spaniel in his mix. What a handsome boy he is! Please don't let

she is shy within the shelter environment.

Ollie (black & white) and Stan (brown & white) are brothers. They get
along really well with each other. Please consider adopting both of

shelter with his sister, Flo (brown & white). These are two friendly,

Dingo is the cute little boy with the reddish brown fur in the photo. He
has cute pointy ears and lots of enthusiasm. He would make a wonderful
companion. He is a young Carolina Dog and Shepherd mix.

Lacy & Tracy - STILL NEED RESCUE
Lacy is a beautiful girl. She & her sister, Tracy, were surrendered to the
shelter by their owner. You can tell from the photos that their previous
owner failed to have the girls spayed. Lacy and her sister are very
sweet and loving dogs that deserve a 2nd chance. They appear to be

Patsy - STILL NEEDS RESCUE
Patsy is a cute little female Beagle. Please consider rescuing or
adopting Patsy. Unfortunately, not many "hunting dogs" leave the shelter
alive. She is very sweet.

Newton - STILL NEEDS RESCUE
Newton is a young chocolate lab mix who is just full of ENERGY, LOVE,
and HAPPINESS!! Newton was brought into the shelter in May by animal
control - he was very timid and afraid initially. He was adopted by a great
couple who fell in love with his good looks and mild manners. Newton
really came out of his shell once he was in a safe and secure home,
though. That endless energy and GO GO GO of a labbie came out in full
force - he was unfortunately returned to the shelter 2 months later
because the couple suffered from arthritis and could not control him
during walks. Newton exhibited nothing but love and happiness in his
temporary home though, according to the couple. Newton is looking for
a home that is interested in a young lab boy with lots of energy, love and
affection to share for many years to come.
