BENGAL

I am happy to report that Bengal's blood values are finally normal.  This amazing dog has had the hardest time putting any weight on because of all the healing her body has been going through.   She was emaciated when we got her and is now heavier but still very thin.  Getting her blood values to stabilize was much harder than the Specialists realized.  When we first got Bengal, she had to have lots of small meals to make sure her body did not go into Re-Feeding Syndrome, which can be deadly for any animal.   That is a condition that is much harder to recover from.   Bengal can now eat at regular intervals and consumes three times her normal calorie requirement.  We are expecting her weight to go steadily up since her amputation site has healed and she is no longer anemic.

Sweet Bengal is an amazing dog that loves everyone.   She has finally come out of her shell and is realizing that we are here to love and care for her.  In the beginning, she was very uncomfortable and unsure of her surroundings.  She now looks forward to going outside and playing with a ball or curling up in your lap.  Bengal is a beautiful dog that never gave up on Life.   She knew if she could just hold on a little longer, someone special was going to come along.  She was right.   She has totally got everyone wrapped around her little paw with her sweet disposition.  All it takes is one look into her innocent eyes and you Heart completely melts.  We LOVE this wonderful girl.   Her Journey to Heal and find Love has begun.

Bengal will be in the hospital for another week and then can be placed in a foster home or  Forever Home.    We are still taking Donations to finish paying off her Surgical and Medical bills.   Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
