BRODIE

I am so happy to report that Brodie is out of the hospital.  Several Specialists were consulting and given all of his scans and lab results.   The consensus from everyone was that he needed to complete his antibiotic treatment to get rid of the infection.   During that time, he has to be on complete bed rest and leash walks only.  The infection was so invasive to his bone that it caused his leg to fracture.   The leg fracture is too fragile to put a plate on or to risk the leg breaking from implanting  Absorbable Antibiotic Beads.  The best we can hope for at this time is that the infection continues to respond to the antibiotic, and the bone begins to fill in as it heals.

The best news is that Brodie feels like getting up and walking around.  His leg swelling has gone done to normal, and he is putting weight on it.   Brodie is back home where I hope, and pray he continues to improve.  We have been dealing with this for a month now and are cautiously optimistic.   Brodie is an amazing young dog.  If he had been any older, I don't think he would have survived.   Thanks for helping us with his medical bills and making his extensive medical care possible.  We greatly appreciate it.
