BUCK

BUCK, is a sweet, low maintenance, timid yet affectionate dog.  He likes to engage in play and is very eager to have fun.

Buck doesn’t trust new people, and his apprehension manifests itself by him shying away from them.  But, in the short time he has accepted friendly interactions readily.  During a recent visit to a local pet store, Buck responded very well to the store owner who was offering him treats.  In a matter of minutes, he was following her behind the counter.  The most compelling progression of his socialization is that he now looks for guidance from his handler when he is unsure of a new social situation.

Buck knows his basic obedience.  He is house broken, and he is crate trained.  He does not whine or bark excessively or unnecessarily.  He seems to get along with most dogs, even some dogs who didn’t react well to him; he will just ignore them.

Buck has some physical limitations.  But, it doesn’t stop him from being a happy-go-lucky dog.  Although we will often use various protocols for training and behavior modification, Buck does best with positive guidance and is very food motivated.  He takes treats very gently.  Buck has not exhibited any aggression at all to people, dogs, lizards, small animals, etc.

Like any adoption, Buck should be placed with responsible pet owners.  However, I don’t see the need for them to have any type of specific breed experience as Bucky is not difficult to manage at all.  He is a very easy dog.  Given his age and physical issues, he can be placed with any common-sense owner. He is a pure pleasure to be around.  He just has this special energy about him that will make any owner a very lucky person.

Buck’s trainer is offering a free leadership and training session to whoever adopts him.  If he is adopted out of the area, telephone support can be offered as well.
