CHINA

I am so happy to report that sweet China is doing well.   Her transfusion did wonders for her.  It gave her enough strength to keep on fighting.  Her Echocardiogram showed the Surgeons exactly where the heartworms are.   China has two worms that are wrapped around a valve in her heart.   The surgeons have decided surgery presents too many risks for her at this time.   They are going to move forward and start killing all of the heartworms.   Every precaution has been taken to give China the best possible outcome.   China will remain in ICU while she is undergoing this treatment.

Our sweet girls belly is finally beginning to go down in size.   The fluid in her abdomen has decreased, and the bulk of the parasites has passed out of her system.   Her appetite is wonderful, and her Spirits are great.

When I think how close this sweet dog came to dying, it brings tears to my eyes.   She has suffered long enough with this.   We love, love, love the Vets and Techs at NC State.   They treat our pups just like they are at home and are their personal dogs.  When I get off the phone with them, I always breathe a sign of relief they are there for our dogs.

China's treatment of her Heartworm Disease and Heart Failure has begun.   Her Surgeons feel good about her prognosis.   She still has several months of treatment before she is out of the woods, but we feel the worst is over.   The Cardiologist does not think she will require any surgery to remove the worms that have migrated.  They are now in an area that is not nearly as dangerous as where they were two days ago.

Sweet Remmy is also at NC State at this time.  Once his biopsies have come back, we will do an updatet to let everyone know where we are with getting his diarrhea under control.   We have had every Specialist in the Country working with dear Remmy.   We are determined to get him well and are not going to give up.

Thanks for helping us with sweet China.   She is our little Miracle Dog.  I can't wait to see her well and out of the Hospital.
