FIONA

Sweet Fiona had Luxating Patella surgery on both of her knees.   She still has some swelling from the surgery, but overall is doing well.  She is on cage rest and is getting lots of ice for the swelling that she is tolerating well.  She is being kept comfortable with her pain meds and is getting Physical Therapy to help with the swelling.   Right after her initial surgery to repair her front legs, she was up and ready to go.  This time, she is not so anxious to get up and move around.   We have her comfortable, but not so comfortable that she would want to get up and run around and injure her legs.   Our little girl has been through a lot to walk.    Her front legs are doing great.  It is hard to believe this is the same dog we rescued two months ago.  Once her rear legs heal, she should have a whole new lease on Life.   Her front legs are never going to be perfect but then perfection is over-rated.    She will be perfect just the way she is and will be able to run around and play in a normal upright position.

Fiona's last surgery was quite expensive since we did both kneecaps at once.  We would greatly appreciate any donations to offset her surgery and rehab.  She will be with us for several more weeks before she can be adopted.

I am surprised we have not gotten any applications for her that are near the Columbia, SC or Savannah, GA area.   She is a delightful little pup that we all adore.   Her applicant needs to be within a hundred mile radius of there so we can get her back to her surgeons if something should happen.    If you think you have room in your heart for this Special little Angel, please, fill out her Adoption Application online.   Thanks for caring and being part of her Journey to Walk.
