HUDSON

Sweet Hudson is still skin and bones.   Getting rid of all the parasites he has been a major undertaking.   His distended abdomen is finally bginning to go down but is still distended from parasites. The blood-transfusion he got gave him a little boost in energy and his blood levels have leveled out.  He is not normal but can maintain the level he has without going down. The biggest issue is getting enough food in him without setting off a chain-reaction that causes him to go into Re-Feeding Syndrome.    His electrolytes are not stable enough for us to stop worrying about this.  The key is to monitor all of his levels daily so you know immediately when his body has shifted into an unhealthy balance that cannot be corrected.

Hudson is such a sweet pup that always wants to please.  He loves having people around to love on him and to give kisses to. Even when he feels rotten and can barely stand, he will shower you with kisses.  Hudson will be in critical care for another week before we start to feel better about his prognosis.  Because he is still so thin, we have sent out another group of tests to make sure he does not have any other issues that would prevent him from absorbing the nutrients in his food.   Those should be back this coming week.

We are not getting a lot of donations for this helpless little pup.    Because of his extensive care and the extra tests he has to have daily, his bills are very high.  Any Donation amount is greatly appreciated.  Please, consider  donating toward Hudson's Medical bills, so he gets the best medical care possible for his condition.

I also want to remind everyone that each donation can be used to honor someone during the Holiday Season.   All you have to do is click on the link below, scroll down the page until you see cards, pick the animals name you would like to have on the card, put the amount in the box and fill in your note and the person's name and e-mail address.   Each donation you make can be a Gift Card for someone special.    Lots of people use every donation as time to honor someone special.    Give it a try and put a smile on someone's face when they realize they were honored by the Gift and an animal was saved.   Thanks for caring and being part of Hudson's Journey to Survive and Thrive.
