PETEY

I am happy to report that sweet Petey has recovered enough to have his Olecranon Fracture (Elbow) repaired.   His neurologic function is altered but improves more each day.  His vision is not perfect but is very functional.  You wouldn't know he was ever blind at one point during this horrible ordeal unless you had seen him that way.

Petey can now walk better after the repair but is still not steady on his feet because of the Neurological Impairment he incurred from the impact of the car.   The fact he is here is a Miracle all by itself.   When I look back at how he was when he arrived at the Critical Care Facility a month ago, I am amazed that he came out of this alive and functioning.     The swelling in his brain had gotten so bad at the time that he appeared to be almost brain dead.   The coma he was put in and the quick action of Dr. Jason King, his Neurologist is the reason he is here today and functioning.    Dr. King does so much for our animals when it comes to any Neurological issues.   He has come in during the night and on his day off, to give the animal the best possible outcome.  Without him, Petey would not be here today.    We rescue the animals and pay the bills, but it is the incredible Vets and Surgeons that do the Magic.   Show Dr. King some love by sending him a message on his Facebook page and let him know how much you appreciate his tireless efforts for our Abused Animals.

Petey is still in the hospital getting Physical Therapy.   He is as sweet as can be and loves everyone.   He will always have some Neurological Impairment but deserves a great home he can call his own.   If you think your Heart and Home is big enough for this amazing dog, please, fill out our Adoption Application online.  Give Petey the greatest Gift of all, Home and a Family he can call his own.   Thanks for caring and being part of his Journey to Walk again.
