Pixie, our sweet tiny pup is doing well this morning.  She had a rather rough weekend after her surgery and didn't want to eat but is now beginning to feel a little better.  It seems like the smaller the dog, the more they are affected by anesthesia and major surgery.   She had lots of broken areas that needed to be repaired.  Each area took an extended amount of time to fix properly.   He Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Nanfelt, felt the surgery went well but was one of the most complicated she has worked on in a while due to bone fragments missing.   Pixie spent the week-end in ICU recovering and will be transferred out this morning.   Our little Angel is still as sweet as can be.  She will remain in the hospital recovering for a month as her pelvis and femur heal.   She will get extensive rehab and laser treatment during this time to speed the healing process.  As of this morning, she has started to put weight on the surgical leg and is walking around a little bit.  She isn't happy about it but is doing it.

We are taking applications for sweet Pixie now so she will have a home to go to as soon as she is ready to leave the hospital.    We have not seen any indication she would not get along with all animals.   She is loving and sweet all the time and will make a wonderful Family Member for any household that does not have small children because of her tiny size.
