Latest Updates

Our sweet little Pixie is finally beginning to feel better, but boy has she been a difficult case.   When we got this sweet pup, she was in unimaginable pain.  She had gone too long without meds, and the pain had gotten out of control.   Each week she gets better but her pain set up a chain reaction mentally.   If you looked at her funny, she would get upset and try to bite you because she thought you were going to hurt her.  If an animal started walking toward her, she would get upset thinking they would hurt her.  Her biggest fear was fear itself because she was on enough pain meds to stop the pain.   The Staff at Berwick Animal Hospital has handled her with kid gloves to get her more relaxed.  This is the first week, she has started to trust what everyone is doing and take in all the love she is surrounded with daily.

Pixie's wounds are healing beautifully.   It is just going to take time for her to get over the fact she was hit by a car that she had no control over.  We went through the same scenario with Petey.  He was scared to move for fear of something terrible happening.   It has taken Petey months, and he is finally starting to relax with his new loving Family.   Love and encouragement turn them around over time.    As soon as Pixie is well enough, she will also go into a new home and will learn to relax and enjoy all the love she will be surrounded with.   Life is going to be good again for this adorable pup very soon.
