RUSTY (GSD)

Latest Updates

I am happy to report that sweet Rusty had his surgery and is doing great.  He has finally settled down now that his injury has been taken care of, and he no longer has bone on bone rubbing every time he moves his hip or leg.   The Surgeon confirmed there was no way he was born this way.   The Medical Report will be going to the Animal Control Officer in charge of Rusty's Case.  The Officer can then go after the Back-Yard Breeder that did not get Rusty proper Medical Care after he was injured.   Rusty suffered for months based on how atrophied his leg and hip area were.

We were really worried about Rusty's temperament when we first got him.   He is a big dog, and he was not happy.   We now know it was because he was so painful from his injury and did not want anyone to cause him any further pain.   He will now happily take treats from the Vet Techs and Surgeons.

It is going to be months before Rusty gets his muscle mass back.   He is going to have to have lots of controlled walks that will enable him to build muscle without causing his other muscles to overcompensate.   Once his incision heals, he will be able to use an Underwater Treadmill for Physical Therapy.

We are way behind on what we need to cover Rusty's Surgery and haven't even started his Physical Therapy.  Please, Donate toward his Medical Bills so we can help more dogs like Rusty.    His Life would be over if we had not stepped up to get him the surgery he needed.   He now has a chance at living a long Life.   Thnks for caring.
