We couldn't save Marigold, but we can do everything possible to save her off-spring.      Each pup has terrible skin infections along with the Demodex.   They have an entire sheet of health issues we are working on, but the main one we have to address is they are heartworm positive.  That by itself would not be an issues, except they appear to be Aussie mixes and are each having issues with the Ivermectin.  Some dogs have a sensitivity to certain drugs, one being ivermectin.   Certain breeds do not process it in a normal way and it accumulates in their brain resulting in neurotoxicity.   We have stopped the Ivermectin and have sent off an MDR1 genotype test to confirm this.   The other issue it that these sweet pups appear to have never been socialized at all.  They are very fearful of everyone and are also reactive if you do not allow them to warm up to you.   The Vets and Vet Techs at Faulkville Animal Hospital are the best at turning animals around and teaching them all about unconditional Love.   A lot of progress has been made over the past week, and each pup appears to be enjoying the relationship they are developing with each person.

We have sent off DNA testing to determine their breed.   We think they are a mixed bag of Aussie and what looks like Shar-Pei based on the ears and the wrinkles.  It will be funny to see what they really are.  One thing is for sure; they are very sweet dogs that had a great Mom looking after them.   The pups will not be adopted together so they can each develop their personality independent of the other.   Marigold was too sick for us to realize what she would look like healthy.  I am sure each of these pups will have her special charm and develop into wonderful, loyal companions.   The next month we get the opportunity to watch them blossom and heal mentally and physically.

We rarely take on three dogs at the same time, but that is what was required to save Marigolds pups.  We have barely gotten enough funds to take care of even one of the pups.   Three pups means three times the medical bills.  Please, donate toward their care so we can give them all they need to live long healthy lives surrounded with unconditional love.

Thanks for caring and making their Journey possible.  Marigold came into our lives for a reason.  It appears that reason was to save her pups from being euthanized.
