The SIMPSONS

I apologize for not sending this update out sooner.  The Simpsons it appears came to us just in the nick of time or they would not be here today.  The pups broke with Parvo right after we rescued them.  The first one to break was Lisa.  This poor little girl was already in terrible shape.  Even though they are all around 6 months old, their immune system is terribly compromised which is why this has happened to them.  Lisa was in critical care all week-end long.   On Sunday, she finally began to feel a little bit better.  By Sunday evening, Bart and Milhouse took a turn for the worse and they broke with Parvo.  All during this time, the doctor's are all jumping through hoops to get them stable from everything else their body has been fighting.  The two boys are still very sick but are slowly improving.  The parents, Marge and Homer are emaciated and very sick from the Demodex and secondary infections.  We have now determined, the parents are around 3-4 years old.  They are so tiny and fragile, it has been hard for the doctors to determine their ages.  We believe 3-4 is a good guess.  Parvo is easy to prevent by giving pups their vaccinations.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult to treat once they have it because puppies get so darn sick and weak.  Right now, we feel good about the outcome for all of the pups but only time will tell.  All of their skin conditions are having to wait until we get them over the Parvo. All of the Simpsons are as sweet as can be.  Even though they are in quarantine, they still get lots of love and affection from someone that is wrapped up like a Christmas present to prevent spread of the Parvovirus.   They are going to be itty bitty beautiful dogs once they are well.  You can't tell from the pictures but they are very small.  Someone could adopt them all and have a ready made little family that would still not weigh much more than 50 lbs. all together.  Please, let us know if you are interested in bringing some of these wonderful pups into your home once they are all healed.  Thanks for caring and helping us with their medical costs. Their medical bills are now going through the roof because of the Critical Care they are requiring to get them over the Parvovirus.  We still need all the donations we can get to save them.
