Sweet Thomas is slowly but surely coming out of his shell.   Healing from his neck injury has been a piece of cake compared to what we are dealing with him feeling safe and secure.  This wonderful boy had totally shut down by the time we had rescued him.

Thomas's staples have been removed, and his neck has healed beautifully.  Once his fur grows back, you will not be able to tell he had an injury.  We prefer any dog that has had an embedded collar to use harnesses.   

Thomas has been working with our Trainer to get him out of his shell.  I am happy to report he has made giant steps in trusting people.   He seems to have a little light that has begun to come back in his eyes.  He is even comfortable enough to chew on a bone that is something he would have never done before.   He still has a long way to go but what we see now shows us that he wants to be here and is willing to do the necessary work.   Everyone that is around sweet Thomas falls in love with him.   He is a big love of a dog.   In my head, it is very difficult to wrap my head around the fact someone mentally abused this sweet dog so horrifically.    Whatever mental torture was done to him, it was enough to cause him to shut down and not care what happened.   He had totally given up.  The good news is that he is young enough to have a long Life filled with unconditional love.  If you think, you are that Special Family, please fill out our Adoption Application.
