LEE COUNTY, NC.......COBY is a sweet one year old LAB Mix that was an OWNER turn in. He came in with a horrible cut around his neck which appeared to be from an embedded collar. After Coby was turned over, the Animal Control Officer at the time called the Sheriff’s Dept. to report Coby as a cruelty case. She was informed they were investigating his case already and the woman was doing the best she could to treat Coby. There is so much misinformation about this sweet dog that it appears no one even thought about charging her with Animal Cruelty. The woman said the dog kept getting loose and her Nephew had caught Coby and tied him up with a COAT HANGER. She said she didn’t realize until it was reported that the coat hanger had cut Coby’s neck. The authorities went to her home and pressed charges for her dog Running at Large and for not having a Rabies Tags. Her Fine was $25. What is wrong with people that do not think this is Animal Cruelty. We rescued COBY and had him flown to our Surgeons in Columbia, SC where he was evaluated, treated and surgery was done on his neck when he was well enough. The wound was horrible. It was so infected, I was surprised Coby was still alive. He had all the typical ailments and parasites of a sweet dog that had been severely neglected and had never had any medical care. He is still in the hospital recovering.

He is doing great and is a typical, loving lab that just wants to play and give kisses all day long. He will be a fabulous member of any Family that has children.
COBY is doing incredible since his surgery and is ready for his new home. He is the sweetest dog and will make a wonderful addition to a Family that has children and other dogs.
