Sweet Mindy is a 4 year old Pomeranian Mix that was brought to Cumberland Animal Control by her owner.  The owner no longer wanted her and knew she would probably be put down because of the large hernia she had.  She was not a prime candidate for adoption.  She was in terrible shape when he dropped her off.  The only thing large on her is the hernia she had been carrying around for a long time.  She had never been taken to a vet for any medical care ever is what he said when he dropped her off.  Beside the hernia, she is loaded with every parasite imaginable.  When we got her, we were not sure if she had a tumor or a hernia.  What we did know is that she did not deserve to die because someone thought she didn’t matter.  She does matter and will make some lucky person a wonderful member of the family.  She had several operations to repair the hernia that had taken over her intestine and ovaries.  How she was able to function and get around with such a large hernia is a testament to how animals  just want to get along.  They take pain and suffering and decide it is part of life as they know it. Her teeth have also been taken care of since they were in horrible condition when we got her.  Mindy is a sweet little girl that wants nothing more than a warm lap to lay in.  

Mindy is ready for her new family.  She is not happy with young children and will need to be placed in a home that does not have any.
