This sweet 1 year old brindle pit was attacked by two dogs while he was chained up in his yard in Greensboro, NC.  He had no way to defend himself.  The owners said they heard him screaming and when they looked out the window, two dogs were dragging him out of their yard.  They bit him all over his neck and on his rear section. He has over 50 bites all over his body. They were so violent that they pulled him out of his collar and chain.  The attack on his groin section caused him to have blood in his urine. 

We were contacted by the neighbor of the family and she explained the situation about the dog.  His entire life he has been tied up to a huge chain in their yard.  The wife hates Rocco and doesn’t want him in the house or near her.  He is not up to date on his shots and is HW+.  Since they could not afford the medical bills he would have after the attack, they were going to euthanize him.  We had him signed over to us so we could get him the medical care and love he so desperately needs.  This sweet dog has had a life of nothing but pain and suffering.  To be  victim of a dog attack and not be able to get away is terrible.  He has shown no sign of aggression and has been as sweet as can be.

Rocco is doing wonderful.  He is loving having someone care about him and make sure he is taken care of.  He is still very cautious which is to be expected but is coming around. He will be spayed this week and then will start his heartworm treatment after he has recovered from that.

This wonderful dog is doing GREAT.  He is like a different dog compared to how he was when he was rescued.  He is on a slow-kill Heartworm treatment that is a long term project that we fell is healthier for him.

Rocco is leaving to go to his new home this week-end.  We are so excited for this wonderful boy.  We know he is going to be spoiled rotten which he definitely deserves.
