BENNETTSVILLE, SC....We were contacted as a last ditch effort to save a beautiful American Bulldog that no one wanted and was scheduled to be put to sleep.   Animal Control of Marlboro County was called out to a home to pick up two abused dogs in June.  When they arrived, they found another dog that no one had noticed originally.   They looked in an abandoned car that was up on concrete blocks and there was a beautiful emaciated American Bulldog locked in the car with the windows up.   They named him Tripp and began treating him.  Unfortunately, this sweet dog had a lot more going on than they could take care of.  They reached out for several months, and no one wanted him.  When I got the e-mail and saw how this poor pup had totally given up, I knew I had to save him.  If he had something so terrible that he would have to be PTS, then he was going to be showered with Unconditional Love until that day came.

The Shelter had started treated Tripp for Heartworm Disease, but he was too far long and was having complications.  The other issue is that he had a growth on his Scrotum that was giving them lots of problems. It would start bleeding and would not stop.  This poor dog had just decided that he was not going to fight to be here any longer and the shelter did not know what else to do but to put him down.

There is nothing sadder to witness than an animal that has shut down from all the abuse he has endured that is waiting to die.  I do not know how long Tripp was in the car before he was discovered.  He would not have survived another day with the heat we had in June.   This poor dog's Life appears to have been one where no one cared about him.   Tripp was taken to the ER in Charlotte where he was stabilized, and a battery of tests were done.  Tripp has advanced Heartworm Disease that is causing him to have early stage right-sided heart failure.   We brought in a Cardiologist to evaluate him and come up with a plan.  When Tripp originally arrived, he had pneumonitis from heartworm disease.  That has improved but has caused him to be a little short of breath.   His Heartworm issues are our main concern at this time.  This will kill him if it is not addressed with a Cardiologist.  Tripp is being transferred to CVRC in Charleston where Dr. Sophy Jesty will take over his Cardiology Care to make sure nothing is done that will compromise his heart any further.

The other issues Tripp has is a growth that needs to be removed on his scrotum and sent off for a biopsy; his eye also has a growth on it that needs to be addressed, and his ears were cropped so low that he has constant ear infections.   I am not sure how much he can see out of that eye because he acts like he cannot see you at times.  Dr. Anne Cook, our Eye Specialist will be looking at his eyes and determining what needs to happen next.  We have a Specialists that will be evaluating his ears which are a mess.

Tripp is one of the sweetest dogs.  He doesn't want to stir up any trouble.  All he cares about doing to staying out of people's way.  He is almost scared to give you a kiss for fear of something bad happening.  We believe Tripp is only about six years old and has had a very bad Life.  This beautiful dog needs a reason to live, and we are going to give him one.  Please, Donate toward TripAp and all of his Medica Care.  Thanks for caring and making his Journey to Survive and Thrive, possible.  We greatly appreciate your Love and Support for our Abused Animals.
