BLIZZARD

I am happy to report that sweet BLIZZARD had her brain surgery and is doing well.  Dr. Bob Bergman performed the surgery on Tuesday and was very excited to see that tumor has not spread any further than it had.  The position of the tumor was in an area that was easy for Dr. Bergman to get to.   As he said, the surgery was very uneventful in terms of Brain Surgery.  Uneventful always puts a smile on our faces, since we have so many surgeries that are extremely complicated and time-consuming.

Blizzard appears to be back to her normal sweet self since the procedure.  Animals are, usually, very dull after brain surgery.  That does not appear to be the case with our wonderful silly girl.   The next two weeks, Blizzard will remain hospitalized so her surgical site can heal, and she can be observed for any neurological issues that might come up.   Once the incision has fully healed, she will then be accessed for Radiation Treatment based on what kind of tumor she has.  Her biopsy is pending and should be pack in about ten days.   The problem with any tumor and especially one on the brain is that you can't remove the brain to get all of the tumor.  You still have margins left where the cancer cells are.  The reason for doing radiation is to kill the last cells so the tumor will, hopefully, not come back.

Right now, our sweet girl is happy and loving and ready for the next phase of her life.  Needless to say, she is being spoiled rotten and being showered with lots of hugs and kisses.  Thanks for caring and being part of  her Journey to Survive and Thrive.
