BUTTERSCOTCH

Sweet Butterscotch is starting to come around and realize we are here to look after her.   She will occasionally hold her head up instead of down.  She will not look us in the eye, but we know she will eventually.  She has also gotten use to our loose lease and will not do everything in her power to get free of it.  She has made a tremendous amount of progress since the day she was rescued.   Keeping her calm will do wonders for her medical care and will enable her skin to heal that much faster.   Her body is flaking large chunks fo skin by the hour.  It is amazing just how many layers of dead skin she had accumulated.   The sad part is that a lot of it is still attached and has to wait until the layer below begins to grow before it can come off.   We are so happy to see her sleeping comfortably and finally able to relax.   Her recovery is going to be long and is going to be very painful at times given how deep her wounds are.   The more she can rest and allow her body to heal the better she will be mentally and physically.   The best news of all is that she is heartworm negative.   I don't think she would have survived if she weren't.    Butterscotch is a fighter that never gave up on Life.   Her Journey to Survive and Thrive has begun.   If you haven't Donated, please do and be part of her Family that makes all of this possible.  We do what we do because of them, and we can because of YOU.

We have not heard any new information about the person that did this to dear Butterscotch.   At some point, someone had to have been feeding and giving her water or she would not have survived.   If anyone has any information concerning this sweet pup, please drop us an anonymous note so the person that did this can be prosecuted.   We see pups all the time with Demodex and Sarcoptic mange that has gotten out of control.  To abandon them without any means to take care of themselves is inhumane.  If you cannot take care of your Family pet, then take them to Animal Control, so they at least have a chance.   DO NOT leave them trapped to suffer and die a horrible death.   The laws have got to change in this Country where they are so harsh and stiff that Low Life's that do things like this will think twice before walking out the door and abandoning an animal.   Stand Up for the animals in your Community and quit turning a blind eye to Animal Abuse when you see it.

We just posted a great video of Butterscotch wagging her tail for the very first time.  Look at all the love this sweet pup has and how happy she is.   Life is Good, is going to be her new motto.
