DOMINO

This has been a hard week for sweet Domino.   He has lost a lot of tissue on his face that has died from being torn so badly and infected.   We do not have any drains in because his wounds are wide open.  It is not like he has a bite that needs a tube inserted so the infection can drain.  His wounds are raw, swollen gaping holes.  One of the bites has damaged the roof of his mouth into his sinus area.  The only procedures he is having now is ridding his body of the dead infected tissue.  No repair work can be done until all the dead tissue has been removed.   Each day his wounds are cleaned and debrided so we have new tissue that can be surgically repaired hopefully this coming week.   The good news is that a lot of his swelling has gone down and he is not as uncomfortable as he was this past week.

The saddest part about what happened to Domino is that he is one of the sweetest dogs.   He loves everyone, and the sub-human that put him in a ring to be practiced on knew this also and still used him as Bait.   Domino's attack was so vicious that I am sure he was beyond terrified.   I am amazed how loving and gentle Domino is.   He wants nothing more than to please everyone that works on his.   Domino is not a big pitbull and is on the smaller size.   It is incredible he survived this brutal attack.   He has old wounds all over the front of his body that indicate he has been fought before.    We haven't introduced him to other dogs yet, but he has dogs that walk past him in ICU, and he does nothing more than wag his tail.  He will be thoroughly evaluated by our Trainers before he is placed in a home.

Domino has a long way to go before he gets out of the hospital.   We need as much in donations as we can get for this sweet pup to give him the best possible chance.  He has several Surgeries coming up this week to start the major repairs on his face.  Domino is not the only dog we took in this week but is the one that will require the most surgery.  Please, Donate as much or as little as you can to give them all a chance at a better Life.   Thanks for caring and making his Journey to Survive and Thrive, possible.
