DOMINO

I am happy to report that sweet Domino's wounds are finally healing.  The problem we had was that the MRSA infection was not allowing them to heal properly.  Now that we have him on the proper antibiotic, his wounds have stopped draining, and they have begun to heal.   The biggest issue is Domino has a compromised immune system from all the wounds.  He is getting stronger each day, but he still is not able to fight off normal bacteria that is always present in Veterinary Hospitals.   We have sweet Domino in a Foster Home to keep him from picking up any new bacteria while he has MRSA.    He will go in and out of the hospital for his wound care and to have his check-ups.    The Foster Family is also interested in Adopting him once he is well.   We have to get him over his MRSA infection before that can happen and that is going to be a while.

The ER Team has done an amazing job of debriding Domino's wounds.   He does not have enough tissue to close the large areas so debriding has been Life-Saving for him.  The ER Team has been removing dead tissue until they find viable tissue that will granulate.   This process has helped the large wounds become smaller and form smoother edges.  He still has some areas that will never join, but they are smaller and are not affecting his Quality of Life which is our top priority.

In the meantime, Domino is loving Life and being spoiled rotten.   He is one of the happiest dogs and loves every person he meets and every animal he has been around.   How anyone could subject this beautiful Soul to such horrible abuse is beyond me.   The abuse Domino has endured gone on for a long time, and he is still sweet as Pie.    Pain and Suffering have not changed what is the core value of this animal.   Domino is sweet and loving under all circumstances.   I would be meaner than a rattlesnake if that had happened to me but he is not.  He is our Saint Dog.

Thanks for caring and making his Journey to find Love and Heal, possible.  We greatly appreciate your Love and Support.
