PEPPER

It is almost Christmas, and we are still hopeful we can get a couple of our dogs Adopted in time to be in a home by Christmas.   This obviously is something that keeps me awake at night since you may not realize this but it is 3:00 AM in the morning.  I got up because sweet Pepper is an older dog that has cancer we are treating and will probably only have a couple of years left.   She so deserves to be in a Family for her final years.    We pay for all of her Cancer Treatments even after she is adopted.

Dear Pepper is like a lot of older dogs; she prefers to be an only dog. Small dogs that respect her space do not seem to be an issue but larger dogs she feels threatened by.   She would be best in a home with an older couple that wants nothing more than to have her sleep at their feet.  She will raise her head for a head scratch and a kiss and then will go right back to sleep.  She enjoys her daily walks and loves being with her person.  We are her Family until a home is found but there is no excuse for this wonderful older gray muzzle not to feel special with one she can call her own.

Pepper is a small Lab / Terrier Mix that is a wisp of a girl. She is a delightful dog that loves everyone she meets.   She will get off her bed, do a long stretch and then go over to anyone that comes into the Noah's Arks Rescue Center and demand kisses and hugs.   If you are up for lots of petting, she will linger until before you know it, she is in your lap.   Pepper stays in my front office for most of the day with me while I work.   She loves treat time which consists of either a kong or another interactive toy filled with her Acana Food that keeps her busy for as long as there is food rattling around.  For almost 30 minutes she will work with the toy until it is empty or she is exhausted.

Please, share this post with anyone you know that is looking for an older dog to love.  You will not find a better one.  We want each of our pups to feel Special and have their very own Family to love.    If you think, you might be the perfect Family or just need more information about Pepper, please, drop me a note and let's see if we can get this beautiful girl a Home for Christmas.    Thanks for sharing her Story.  Have a very blessed Holiday Season.
