PETUNIA

Sweet Petunia is still draining a lot.  As you can see from the pics, the new scabs are because of all the drainage.   She will have to have all of her wounds debrided so fresh new tissue can granulate it.   We were hoping most of the drainage would have almost stopped by now but unfortunately, that has not happened.   Petunia is fighting three infections that we are fighting to get under control.  Once the infections are under control, so will the drainage.    Tomorrow is another day and hopefully for our adorable little girl her skin will be much drier than it has been for the last two days.  Petunia's pain level is minimal now even during the procedures.

Little Petunia will eventually grow into those big feet of hers.   We do not have a clue what breed she is.   What we do know is that she will be big, goofy and sweet as can be.

We are getting lots of requests to adopt our baby girl.   To be considered for any of our animals, you must submit an Adoption Application.  No exceptions, EVER.  Once the applications are in, we will then look at all of the applications and pick the best possible candidate based on Petunia's personality and the type of environment she will need to live in to have the best quality of life.   Her personality is still coming out.  We will know a lot more in several weeks once she has healed enough to be socialized with other dogs.   Right now, she is just too fragile.   If you are an impatient person and can't wait that long, then you will probably not be picked.   We take our time during the healing process to make sure we know as much as possible about all of our animals.   We DO NOT rush the process nor set an animal up for failure.   We want each home to be for the Life of the animal.  Please, be patient if you have applied for any of our dogs.
