MOZART

Latest Updates

Adorable little Mozart is doing wonderfully.   We removed the cyst that was in his jaw and removed part of his lower jaw and teeth.   Once the first procedure was done, the surgeon then did reconstructive surgery to re-align his mouth so it would open properly and also keep his tongue centered and in his mouth.   The problem with a tongue that hangs out all the time is that it will dry out.   We wanted to prevent that if at all possible so his mouth would heal better and not add to the pain he had been having.    Within six hours of surgery, this incredible little dog was eating and drinking just like any other dog.   We were all amazed at how well he adapted without the jaw and the cyst.

Mozart for some reason cannot have a lot of opiates during surgery because it drops his blood pressure too much and effects his heart.  Having this information in advance the Doctors changed their normal procedure, and a new protocol worked perfect for him.    The Surgeon had enough time to remove and reconstruct without further issues.

As you can see from the pictures, Mozart has no problem opening his mouth and picking up a big stuffed toy.   Since doing the surgery, he is a different dog..   He is happy and playful all day long.   During his hospital stay, he stole the hearts of many of the Vet. Techs.   One in particular decided to foster him for a few days to see how he fit in with her family.   I am happy to report that it went so well that she cannot imagine her Life without this amazing little boy.   Mozart is officially HOME.
