TIMBER (BCACS)

I wanted to do a quick update on Timber. He has been doing so well that I decided it had been long enough and it was time to do more testing to make sure his liver and the organs that were struggling so badly before were truly healing and would not cause problems down the road. I am usually a “glass half full” kind of gal, but Timber has made me very cautious. We have celebrated him doing amazing before, only to have him crash and spend weeks in the ER.

Timber went back to CVRC to see his specialists and have extensive bloodwork and testing done. The main test they wanted was an ultrasound that required a specialized technician. The results were remarkable. The liver that had caused so many problems has healed and now only shows a small amount of scar tissue from his procedures. His bloodwork looked so good it was almost boring, which is exactly what we hoped for. Everyone who helped save Timber was amazed at how well he is doing. He is now only on two medications to protect his GI system along with probiotics.

If you saw Timber today you would never guess what he has been through. He runs, plays, and is an absolute joy to be around. He especially loves hanging out with the little dogs and seems to take on the role of their protector. In one of the photos he is happily playing with Sophia Loren.

Something I never thought I would be able to say is that the specialists now believe Timber can be adopted into a home close to his hospitals so he can continue to be monitored. We have a wonderful family coming to meet him that has adopted several dogs from us before and who we believe could be perfect for Timber. Fingers crossed this is the right match.

In the meantime we do need to raise funds to cover his most recent procedures at CVRC. The next time Timber will likely need to go back will be in about six months for a follow-up check. We also now believe Timber is closer to five years old based on how playful and full of life he is. Our special boy still has a lot of life left to live. Thank you for giving Timber the Gift of Life. He would not be here today without your unconditional love and support. Timber needed a village and he found one.
