TIMBER (BCACS)

Happiness doesn’t even begin to describe Timber’s personality. He is all smiles, full of mischief, and radiates joy. Today marks a huge milestone—Timber is officially off all medications and no longer needs his ears, feet, and wounds cleaned three times a day. His fur is even starting to grow back in all the places he had lost it, with the cutest little tufts sprouting everywhere.

This morning, Timber weighed in at 80.2 lbs! He still needs to gain about 10 more pounds, but what an incredible transformation.

What began as people urging us to let him go has turned into pure disbelief when we share that the healthy, happy dog they are petting is the very same Timber. By every medical account, Timber should not have survived. Even a month into his care, doctors doubted he would pull through. But Timber chose to fight—and win.

His story is proof of what unconditional love, compassion, and an extraordinary medical team can do when paired with an animal’s will to live.

It’s still heartbreaking to know that someone who once claimed to love him could have allowed him to fall into such a horrific state. Every test we’ve run has ruled out underlying illness. By all signs, Timber was simply neglected—confined without the ability to care for himself, given too little food and water to survive. His immobility caused ulcers that became infected and infested. It is unthinkable cruelty.

And yet—looking at Timber now—you would never guess his past was anything but perfect. He is happy, playful, full of energy, and loves everyone he meets, both people and dogs alike. Timber truly is perfect in every way.

What’s next for Timber?

He will be neutered.

He will begin heartworm treatment under the care of his cardiologist, Dr. Sophy Jesty at CVRC, to ensure there are no hidden issues.

Once recovered, he will undergo a thorough dental procedure.

Timber’s road to recovery has been nothing short of miraculous, and it is thanks to YOU. Your encouragement, donations, and love gave us the strength and resources to keep going when things seemed hopeless. We are forever grateful.

But Timber’s journey isn’t over yet. His next round of medical care is approaching, and we need your help once more. Please consider donating—any amount makes a difference—to ensure Timber receives the treatments he needs to fully heal and live the joyful life he so deeply deserves.
