💔 Timber Needs a Miracle 💔

I hate days like today. Last night and this morning, Timber was doing great — his drain fluid had decreased, he felt strong, and was eating like a champ. But by 10:00 AM, our entire world turned upside down.

Timber’s abdominal drain suddenly began filling with red, cloudy, blood-tinged fluid, and he spiked a fever. A culture revealed E. coli bacteria, which means he either developed a new ulcer or the one they had closed reopened.

Everyone in ICU was in complete shock. When the call came, I was sure they had the wrong dog — not our Timber. But it was.

Timber is septic again and must go into emergency surgery — or I would have to say goodbye now so he wouldn’t suffer. There isn’t even time for me to drive to Charleston to be there. After speaking with his surgeon and criticalist, I agreed to proceed with exploratory surgery. They’re preparing him now.

If it’s a minor repair, there’s hope he’ll pull through. But if it’s more complicated, he would not have the quality of life he deserves — and I can’t let him suffer.

The ICU team is taking him outside for a little sunshine and love before surgery, just in case. Everyone there adores him and is heartbroken.

Please, please send every prayer you have for this incredible dog — the one his owner never wanted, and the one we can’t imagine life without. 💔
