TIMBER (BCACS)

Latest Updates

YEMASSEE, SC.... Every second I get is spent doing everything humanly possible to save a dog.  It does not matter where the dog is located; the pleas for help never stop.   The critical calls in Beaufort and Jasper County always get top priority because that is where we are located.   Beaufort County contacted us with a crucial case that required their assistance.  We are their Last Resort when they reach out to us.

Timber appeared to have crawled in next to a bush and a house and could not move. All local shelters in and out of our area were full. The Animal Control Officer contacted Beaufort County to see if they would offer assistance for a dog out of their County. As they always do, BCACS could not turn their back on an injured dog that needed immediate medical care. At the end of the day, I like to think we all do our best for an animal in need.

I soon realized this poor dog did not have the luxury of me taking my time to figure out if I could offer assistance.  It was now or never, and I knew it when I saw his condition.  I immediately instructed them to take him to CVRC in Charleston, SC.  If we were going to save him, that was the best Emergency Care facility within a 300-mile radius. There is nothing they cannot handle, and they have the most qualified and experienced Specialists in the Country, which is why all of our animals go there.

I am assuming Timber was hit by a car since he was found about half a mile from Interstate 95.  I also think he was able to walk briefly until he collapsed in a stranger's yard.  BCACS is en route to Charleston now.  I don't know any more than what I have mentioned above.  What I do know is we need to raise funds so we can get Timber the medical care he needs to survive.  As soon as I receive information from CVRC, I will post an update.

Timber appears to be  a Shepherd / Husky Mix that we believe is around 5 years old with no identification.

In the meantime, we need help with funds so he can get the best possible medical care and give him the best chance of survival.
