REMMY

Sweet Remmy has had a rough time since getting back from NC State.   We are working on getting our dear boy back to the weight he was before going into their hospital.   One of the medicines they put him on caused him to have a GI problem.  Our fear was that he was getting an ulcer.   Remmy's Medical Team took him off the medicine and are now focusing on healing his gut which appears to be improving.   He is now beginning to get his appetite back and is back to his normal eating habits.   Having another medical condition added to his already stressed system has made him very fragile this week.   Remmy also has his very own Holistic Practitioner in Oregon that is overseeing his progress.   The best news this week is that he has had periods of solid stools which is amazing.   Most of the time, his stools are more pudding like which we will take compared to where he was.

If an animal can heal by Love and Care alone, then sweet Remmy will get through this.  There is never a moment that he is left alone.   Everyone at Dutch Fork Animal Hospital has jumped in to save this amazing little dog.    When I say everyone, I mean everyone.   Remmy is surrounded by people that love him.  When anyone takes a break, they do it where Remmy can crawl up into their lap and nuzzle or sleep.   Doctors, Vet Techs, and our wonderful Volunteers are all doing this.   Dr. Elizabeth Niciu at DFAH is taking a much-needed break in this  picture while Remmy curls up in her lap to sleep.

We have a very special team of Vets, Surgeons and Vet Techs that understand our philosophy and go above and beyond for all of our animals.  Each Hospital works as one big Noah's Arks Rescue Team.   They discuss each animal and come up with the best place for that animal to heal.  It was decided that DFAH was the right place for Remmy at this time.   To say we love our Medical Team and Volunteers is an understatement.   They are the backbone of what we do.  I may be the Quarterback, but they are the glue that holds it all together.    Each animal in our care is alive because of this philosophy.   Thank-you Dutch Fork Animal Hospital, Carolina Veterinary Specialist in Matthews, Charleston Veterinary Referral Center, Berwick Animal Hospital, Live Oak Veterinary Neurology and  Animal Eye Care of the Lowcountry.    It is because of your unwavering dedication to our animals that we can take on the cases we do.   We Thank-You for being our Guardian Angels and theirs.
