Chuck is a sweet 1 year old Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix that was picked up as a stray in Chatsworth, GA. and brought to the Murray County Shelter.  It appears he was dragged by a car.  We do not know if it was intentional or an accident but we do know he was dragged by the injuries he has sustained all over his body.  The nails on one of his paws are completely worn down to the bone.  He is missing large chucks of skin that are worn down to the bone.  Whatever happened to this sweet boy had to have been terrifying for him.  We are very surprised he is still alive and does not have any broken bones.  He also has a scar around his neck from being dragged by a collar or from an embedded collar.  We do not have any leads as to who did this to this sweet boy.   Chuck will have to have several operations to remove the dead skin and close up the areas by grafting new skin on.  It will be a long process for this little one but we are determined to get him better.  With all the pain he has been in, he has been nothing but sweet.  All he cares about doing is laying in your lap and giving lots of kisses.  He is a doll-baby.

This sweet adorable little boy has really been through it.  He has had his first of many operations to remove all of the dead skin on his body.  Some of it is taking but some is not which is why he will need several more surgeries.  Chuck will be with us for about  4-6 weeks more while he is recovering and having his surgeries.  He is so sweet and loving.  He brings tears to our eyes every time he loves on us.  He is such a trooper.

Chuck is doing wonderful.  He has several more operations to go but he is doing well.  He is the sweetest dog.

Chuck is running around the clinic like he owns the place.  he is doing wonderful.  He is hard to get a picture of that is in focus because he is always moving.  He has two more surgeries scheduled to remove the dead issue and break up the scan tissue that has formed and is restricting the movement in his back rear leg.  The next surgery will be to give his more mobility in his leg so he can put it down.  He is still a sweetheart that just loves being loved on.

Chuck has undergone two more operation to relieve the tension in the skin he has from the scar tissue.  It will take one more operation before he will be able to put is back foot down comfortably.  He is an adorable trooper that is getting to run the show at the vets office.  He and Snoopy run freely at the clinic and love every minute of it.
