Daisy - Dazy - Blue

Latest Updates

We changed his name from Poppy to Daisy because of the type of injury he has.  We wanted him to not have a name that reminded him of the way he got hurt.  Poppy was called Daisy and is now called DAZY.

Dazy is an 8 week old collie mix that was brought into the Greenville Shelter as a stray. When he came in, we weren’t even sure if he would survive. He had many puncture wounds and her eye was injured. We took her to the vet today, and did x-rays…only to find out that Dazy had been shot with over 30 BB’s from a pellet gun! He will lose his eye, because he was shot directly in it. The BB’s will not need to be removed, but Dazy will need to have his eye removed and lots of medicine to get him healthy!

This just  breaks my heart for this sweet adorable puppy.  Many a tear has been shed for the inhumane treatment of this innocent puppy.

Sunday December 28 Update

Daisy / DAZY has been with the vet being treated since he was rescued.  She said he is doing wonderful.  He is walking around and going outside to the bathroom just fine and his infections are getting better but there is one problem, Dazy is not a she but a he. Now we have to come up with a new name for him.  It seems fitting because we got an e-mail saying the brand name for the no. 1 BB gun company was Daisy and wanted us to change the name.  I said that I would let the adoptive parents name her but now I know the name needs to be changed....Daisy is now DAZY.

Friday January 2, 2009 Update

Daisy/Dazy is doing wonderful.  She is leaving tomorrow to be transported to her new hom in Maryland.  His eye was removed this past Tuesday and he is acting as if he never had nor needed one.  This is the sweetest puppy that is going to a wonderful Family where he will have lots of other dogs and cats to play with on a farm and can run around to his hearts content.

Thank-you Guardian Angels for making this possible.

Dazy (now named Blue) has gone to his forever home in Maryland.  The pictures below are of  Blue with his transporters taking him to his new home.

He arrived safely and his new Guardians just adore him.  It is a match made in Heaven for all.  I will keep pictures coming in as I get them and reports from the new parents.

Blue is doing wonderful.  He loves his new family and they just adore him.  He is one spoiled little pup that gets to run around in the snow and play with the other dogs and cats of the family.  His new life has begun full of love and kisses from here on out.

Thanky-you Gayle & Ken for showering this sweet baby with lots of love.
