GREENVILLE, SC.......Adorable 4 month old JUPITER is a Collie Mix that was picked up as a stray that could not walk. He was going to be put down until we stepped up for him. Jupiter’s pelvis was crushed and his rear leg was terribly damaged. He does not have the typical signs of a dog that was hit by a car. If he was hit by a car, then he was struck at a very high speed and then thrown instead of being run over. We have had Jupiter for almost a month now to make sure we could have a good outcome for this adorable little dog. When he first arrived you could not get near him because he was in such terrible pain. He had been this way for so long that he was petrified of anyone coming near him for fear he would be hurt further. After several operations and lots of tender loving care, I am happy to say we are having a good outcome for this adorable pup. His bladder and bowels are now functioning normally and he is FINALLY able to walk as you can see from the top right photo. He is happy and loving and not afraid of people. He loves to give lots of kisses and will let you love on him all day long. It has been a rough road for this little fella but his worst days are over. Jupiter will be with us for another month doing rehab to continue his progress and to make sure he develops normally since he is a growing puppy. He is a beautiful dog that will make a wonderful addition to any family.
It is hard to believe this is the same dog that four weeks ago you could not get near because he was so fearful of everyone and everything. We have decided it was because he had been in such excruciating pain for so long that his survival instincts had kicked in and he was going to do anything he could to make sure he wasn't hurt again. His surgery has been a huge success and he is bouncing all over the place looking for someone to play with him or give him lots of kisses. He is now able to finally be a puppy. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful this sweet little dog is. He will make a wonderful member of the family for a lucky person.
