NOELLE

Latest Updates

Holidays come and go but the abuse and neglect are constant.  The week of Christmas we were contacted by a vet in Beaufort, SC about a little Poodle Mix that had been hit by a car.  A good Samaritan in the Military had found a little tiny dog that was in the road suffering after being hit by a car.  He went door to door to find the owner but ended up calling Animal Control when no one would help.  Sweet Noelle was in shock and was not expected to make it which is why the Vet Hospital called us.  It was now or never with this adorable little pup and she needed to go to a critical care facility ASAP or they were going to have to put her down now.  With no time to think, I said definitely and got Noelle to the ER in Charleston.  I am happy to report that our little bundle of joy was saved.  The first week was very touchy.  We had to wait several days before any surgery was done so she could be stabilized.   Noelle has right ilial, acetabular and pubic fractures.  In other words, her pelvis is fractured in a lot of places.   Her right 1st and 2nd rib are fractured.  She also has corneal abrasions from dirt on the pavement and her right front leg has radial nerve paralysis.  If Noelle does not get nerve function back in her front leg, we will have to remove the leg later on.  The surgeons have gone in and performed the necessary surgeries.  Noelle did great but is still in the hospital and will be for another month.  She is getting physical therapy several times a day to restore as much as possible her ability to walk.  Even though her pelvis was repaired she is still very hesitant about putting any weight on it.   We were using two straps to help her walk and have just recently started using one strap only.  Our little fluff ball is comfortable but is stubborn about doing her part.  All she wants to do is curl up in your lap and hope this nightmare goes away.

Please, help us with her medical care.  Her surgical and critical care bill is over $10,000. all by itself.  We have a lot more on top of that to make sure she gets the best possible physical therapy so she can regain her ability to walk again.

Noelle is the sweetest most adorable little puff ball.  How she survived this accident is a Miracle all by itself because of her size.   She will be able to be adopted once her rehab and surgery is completed.  If you are interested, fill out an Application for her now so you can be considered.
