Our sweet boy is doing wonderful.  He had surgery the other night to remove 13 teeth that had been damaged or destroyed from the gunshot.  He still has enough teeth left to comfortably eat food and chew on treats once the incisions have all healed.  Right now, he is still eating the meatballs we are making for him.  The only problem we are having is getting him to drink enough water.  He hates the water fountain we got for him and also has decided that he hates water coming from a large syringe.  We have now switched to feeding him bouillon flavored gelatin water cubes.  He will eat those just like the meatballs.  A lot of animals do not have tongues and learn to adjust their method of drinking water.  He is just being very stubborn right now.  We still have a feeding tube in to give him water but do not want this for long-term.  A feeding tubes is a last resort for him since they eventually get infected and need to be changed.  He will come around in his own time.  Our dear boy is still the sweetest dog.  He loves everyone and is happiest in someone's lap giving lots of kisses.   Thanks for caring and helping us with his care.
