YADKINVILLE, NC....This is the first time we have dealt with this shelter, so we were not aware of how well they took care of their animals.  We were contacted by a Volunteer that pulls from them all the time.   When she went in to pick up some cats one of the staff ran up to her to see if she could help a poor helpless 8-week old puppy that had been starved.   She knew this was way more than she could do and contacted us immediately.    Jenny was taken to Carolina Vet Specialists in Matthews, NC immediately.

A lot of pups in this condition can be turned around almost immediately if their body has not gone past the point of no return.   Jenny was immediately put on fluids and blood was drawn to see how bad her body condition was.  It appeared this sweet pup had been on her own since she was a baby and was in renal failure.  We did scans of her entire body to make sure she did not have an obstruction.  No obstructions were found, but we did find that her kidneys had either not fully developed or had been damaged from the neglect.

To hold this little Angel and have her fight with every ounce of energy she could muster to live is beyond heartbreaking.  She should have died weeks ago.  It is like she knew someone was going to come for her.   We have had Jenny in ICU getting round the clock care for the last four days.  Her values have improved but not as much as we had hoped.  The fact she has improved is the reason why I am posting for her now.  I DO NOT want to give up on her if she needs a little longer for her kidneys to develop and recover.  She was loaded with parasites when we got her, and that takes a big toll on such a young puppy.   We are slowly ridding her body of the parasites.  We are supplementing her body with food through a Naso-Gastro tube to get enough calories in her.   She is finally gaining some weight.

We are working with the best Critical Care Specialists in the World to get their opinions on this adorable puppy.  They each agree we should give her body a little more time to respond to what we are doing.  Her values are not getting worse which is significant.   Over the next 24 hours, we will determine if she would benefit from a transfusion.   For now, we need for everyone to Donate toward this little Angel and say a lot of Prayers.

Today is the first day we have been able to post on our Web Site since we were hacked three weeks ago.  The site had to be completely rebuilt and put on a different server.  Please, let us know if you have any trouble viewing any of the dogs or donating.  To say I have cried a thousand tears over this is an understatement.   Saving animals requires a Village and to not be able to get the message out and not have my loyal Donors get their Thank-You notes was horrifying for me.  We LOVE our Followers.  You are our Family and want to make sure at ALL times you can reach us and can see the dogs you have loyally donated to for almost ten years.   Please, know how much you mean to us and the Abused Animals animals we take care of.  We could not do what we do without you.   Warm hugs and much love.......Jennifer
