GREENVILLE, SC......Good Lord this has been a rough couple of weeks with dogs and pups. If I posted for every dog, we helped, ya'll would immediately decide I needed major brain surgery. I do need to have my head examined but not for lack of love for doing everything possible to save an animal in need. This past week and weekend, we have done major spinal surgery on a puppy that was born with a spinal deformity, a puppy with Tetanus from an embedded collar, the dog with Kidney failure from poisoning, the dog with massive seizures we are trying to save and the puppy we are posting for now. Each animal is or has been in ICU this past week.
We will only post for a few of these pups, but they have all been helped and saved because we care. To say that we need funds is an understatement. When we ask for funds, please do whatever you can to help us. Just because you don't hear about the other dogs doesn't mean they do not exist. It just means we do not have two seconds to post for them and keep saving all the animals we do. If we do not get enough funds for the animals we post, then I have to take care of the bills. If we get more funds than we need for an animal, the balance goes toward the next animal in line. Everything goes into saving animals.
Sweet Miko was rescued from Greenville County Animal Control when NO ONE stepped up for this desperate puppy. Miko was turned into Animal Control when he was abandoned with a Family that could not take care of him. Miko is a four-month-old Pitbull Mix that is barely alive. He has been in ICU since Friday. Miko has a terrible case of Demodex that has is so bad that his body is oozing fluid constantly. His body is one big infection from all the open wounds. On top of all this, he is loaded with hookworms that are taking all of his blood. This adorable pup is one big hot mess. If we can get his body stable, we can save him but he has to remain in ICU. The list of all his medical issues is so long that there is no point in posting them. He is terribly sick and needs a team of Critical Care Specialists to save him. Miko is too sick for us to know even how sweet he is.
Life should not be this hard for an adorable puppy. He should be running around nibbling on your hand and getting into trouble and chasing balls. Instead, he is fighting for his Life because someone discarded him and allowed this to happen. There is no excuse for this ever to happen to an animal. We have Demodex puppies every month that are in terrible shape. This is the WORST case we have ever seen. One more day in the Shelter and Miko would not be here.
