NIKO

CHARLOTTE, NC......Sweet Niko is an adorable 12 week old Toy Poodle puppy that was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus.  At five days old, a back-yard breeder in Luxemburg, WI brought him to her Vet to be put to sleep.  A young Lady offered to take him in to save his Life.   After a month, she soon realized adorable Niko needed major surgery and medical care that she could not supply.   We offered to take him into our surgical program to give him the best possible chance of survival.   She drove from Wisconsin to South Carolina to bring this tiny baby to us.

Niko arrived around the Holidays and was immediately taken to our Neurologist for an MRI.    He was then transferred to Charlotte where Dr. Bob Bergman did his neurological evaluation.    As you can see from the MRI scans that were taken, this adorable puppy has Hydrocephalus.    Niko needed to have an adjustable shunt put in that would regulate the fluid in the brain.  This is the same device we used for sweet Lamb Chop.  Unfortunately, our little Angel had a terrible sinus infection that had to be completely gone before he could undergo any surgery.   The last month we have spent getting our little bundle of joy, well.   During that time, we  worked with our fabulous Codman Rep., Michelle Vigna to find the best shunt to use for this tiny pup.  Nikko weighs less than a pound.  We love this company and so appreciate all they do to help us with our Hydrocephalus pups.   The devices are very expensive and are Life-Savers for pups with Hydrocephalus.   Once the device is put in, the Rep. will then come out to the Surgical Facility and do adjustments as needed.  Michelle is wonderful, and we so appreciate all she has done for us and Niko.

Nikko is finally well enough for his surgery.   Please, help us with the cost of this procedure and his extensive rehab.   The cost of the device alone is more than most surgeries.  This device and surgery is little Niko's only chance of ever walking again.   Without this procedure, he will suffer and eventually have to be put to sleep.   Please, help us, help Niko, by donating.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.  If you cannot donate, then forward to all of your animal loving friends so we can get what this sweet pup needs to survive.  Please, keep Niko in your prayers that he survives this procedure.
