BRODIE

Our Sweet Brodie is having a very difficult time since his procedure.   The surgery required going into the spinal area from the top of his neck.   The surgery was long and tedious since so many things can go wrong in this particular area.   Working on the Spinal Column requires very steady, confident hands that know how to prevent problems from happening.   Brodie is not springing back like we had hoped he would.  He doesn't even want to get up and go outside.   The worst part is that he doesn't want to raise his head up at all which makes us worried.   The surgeon thinks it is just Brodie's way of dealing with the surgery.  The problem is that animals as big as he has to get up and move around.  They are way too big to be staying in one place very long.   The longer they are down, the more complications come up.   Our Gentle Giant is getting round the clock care in ICU to make sure he doesn't have any complications from his surgery.

Please, keep Brodie in your prayers that he fights a little harder to come out of this.   He reminds me a lot of Dozer in this regard.  Once BIG Dozer had his surgery, he gave up.    It took us months to get him to come out of his fog.   He did not want to be here, and we worked with him every minute to keep his body functioning and to keep him engaged.   He finally decided to join the living, but it was not an easy task.  We are hoping and praying for the same result with sweet Brodie.   He will remain in ICU until he starts getting up and moving around on his own.  Every penny counts when it comes to the animals we take in.   Right now, we need lots of pennies and lots of prayers.

Thanks for caring and being part of his Journey to SURVIVE and Walk again.  We greatly appreciate your Support.
