MISSY

Latest Updates

I am happy to report that the biopsy for Missy came back that she does not have cancer and the masses we've removed were benign.   Her lymph nodes were enlarged because of her skin inflammation and the drainage coming from it.  This wonderful dog has had so many things going on that getting good news had us all jumping for joy.

Missy finally got strong enough for us to do her TPLO surgery.    The surgery went well without any complications, and sweet Missy is already using the leg.  Older dogs like Missy thrive in an environment where they are loved unconditionally.   Her life as it was has become a distant memory.  We did find that out that Missy once belong to a gentleman that passed away. She then went to his family. The family is in the military and get transferred to Florida where no dogs were allowed on the Base. They found Missy what they thought was a great home and moved to Florida. Apparently it wasn't such a great home because it appears that she was abandoned.  She is with us now and will never have to worry about being alone or abandoned again.

Flat coat retrievers are some of the sweetest dogs around.  Anyone that adopts Missy will have the most loyal companion you could ever imagine.   She is loving and sweet and a delight to be around.

Missy's surgeries have been quite extensive with her mass removals and TPLO surgery.  We are way behind on the funds we need for her.  Please donate whatever you can so we can cover her bills, and can help more dogs like Missy.

Unfortunately, I have some bad news.  Last Thursday after a long bike ride I came home and was just about to put my bike away when I came upon a huge copperhead ready to strike one of my dogs.  I jerked my bike back and unfortunately went back on my wrist and broken it in two places.   I will be going into the hospital tomorrow to have surgery and have a plate put in.   Having one hand makes it very difficult to do updates as often as I like.    We have taken in lots of dogs over the past week that are being treated in ICU and the ER.    As soon as I am able to post for them, I well.     In the meantime, any Donation is greatly appreciated while we are working through all of this.    Thanks for caring and making their journey to heal and find love, possible.   We greatly appreciate your continued love and support.
