I am happy to report that dear Bengal is out of the ICU and has been transferred to a regular hospital where she is recovering.  This sweet pup had a terrible time up until she could have her surgery.  Once the surgery was done, she started to feel better almost immediately.   Her poor leg had been infected for so long that it had caused her entire body to become infected.  The good news is that her mangled leg is gone, along with the source of the infection.

Bengal got up the very next day after her surgery.  Her pain level immediately changed and became something we could control without having her knocked out most of the time.   Over the next few weeks, we will be able to get a good idea of how dear sweet Bengal is.  In the hospital, she was in so much pain that she got tired of people fooling with her.  She now wants to interact more with you and is open to having people love her.   So far we have not seen any major reaction around other animals.   That could change as she gets more comfortable but as of now she is doing fine when she is around another dog or cat.  

Bengal will have to stay at the hospital until all of her blood values have stabilized.  By next week, we are anticipating she can go into a Foster Home where she will be spoiled rotten.   Thanks for helping us save this amazing dog.  We love seeing her out of pain and enjoying Life.
