Sweet Miko is very slowly gaining weight.  It doesn't look like it based on these pics, but he is.  The issue she is dealing with now is that he is a growing puppy.  He is using up all of her calories with all the growing he is doing and in the healing process.  Poor pup will not have any fur for months, and that makes him look even thinner.  Miko has lots of little sweaters and T-shirts to keep him warm, but we can always use more in various sizes since he is growing so fast.  

So far the medicine Miko is taking has prevented his heart condition from getting worse.  We will not know for quite some time if his heart condition was caused by him emaciated medical condition when we rescued him or if it is genetic.  If it is genetic, then the medicine will not do a lot for him in the long term.   We are each feeling positive about how far he has come.  His Cardiologist did not feel good about his long-term prognosis.  He is now beginning to think he might be able to overcome a lot of the damage that was done to his heart.  Miracles happen every day.  Miko is going to be our little Miracle.

Our Little Angel is still going in and out of the Hospital based on his Foster's Schedule.    When she works at CVRC, Miko goes in with her, and when she is off, Miko gets to stay at home and play with her other pups.  We have a cute picture of Miko playing tug of war.   Life is good for this adorable pup because of your generosity and love.   Thanks for caring and making her Journey to Survive possible.
